May Beauty Favorites 2014

Hey guys, I have been obsessed with a ton of things beauty related this month and I wanted to share them with you. Also kind of a random favorite is hashtags. Everytime I'm around my family or friends randomly I will just say a hashtag like hashtag hungry and it's so funny. It might sound a little weird but trust me it's hilarious.

My first beauty favorite  is from the drugstore. It's a Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade. It's the perfect throw in your bag lip product and if your a teenager like me perfect for school. On the lips, it has the perfect light wash of pink and it has been my go-to lip product this month.

The only other drugstore favorite I have is the Elf Natural Eyeshadow Palette. In one of my recent blog posts I did an entire review on this palette and swatches so if you missed it go check it out. This has been the only eyeshadow I used this entire month.

If you had to get one high end face product I would definitely recommend this to you. It's the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream in Medium. One of my favorite things about this product is that you can make it look natural or build it up if you want more coverage. Overall this product is #amazing.

Whenever I wear a foundation or CC Cream I have to set it with powder. My favorite powder of all time is the Mac MSF Natural in Medium Plus. This powder adds just a little coverage and you can also use this as a powder foundation with just a little concealer and your good to go.

Last month I did an Ulta Haul and I included the Too Faced Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer. I have been using this bronzer since the day I got it and I'm obsessed with it. It's perfect because there are 2 different colors so you can mix them together or use the two colors on their own which helps you create the perfect shade for your skin.

My last favorite for the month of May is my Mac Paint Pot in Painterly. This is one of the only eyeshadows primers I use because it covers any redness on your eye lid and leaves with a even base. If you pick any of these products up I can promise you will not regret it. What r your favorites for this month?
            Love,

My Top 5 Nude Lip Glosses

Hey guys, I wanted to share with you My Top 5 Nude Lip Glosses. Don't get me wrong I have way more then 5 lip glosses but these are the ones I would repurchase first.

My first gloss is from the drugstore. About a year ago, NYX released a line called Butter Glosses and they r around $5. If you have an Ulta near u, they are by 1 get one 50% off. The range of colors in the collection are amazing, from nudes, to reds, and even some dark purples.

I would describe the color as a pinky/mauve nude or just the perfect nude. The texture is super creamy and pigmented so know I basically want all of the other nude colors. Oopps!!

This next lip gloss is also from the drugstore. Milani released these new Brilliant Shine lip glosses for Spring 2014. This gloss does have a thicker constantly on the lips so that is something that could be a turn off for you.

If your looking for the perfect nude gloss then this is it. I find myself just throwing this lip gloss in my bag and walking out the door. My only con with the product is I wish Milani would come out with more nude colors.

My last 2 glosses are apart of the Maybelline Elixir line. This color is Limited Edition but I am almost positive that you can still find it at your drugstores.

This lip gloss is a light warm brown color and has no shimmer in it. It's perfect for layering on top of something or just wearing it by itself. This lip gloss is overall #great.

My last drugstore lip gloss in also apart of the Maybelline Elixir line in the color Gleaming Gold. This color is also limited edition.

This is more of a topper. It adds just a little shine or shimmer to your lips but nothing crazy. Definitely think everyone needs this kind of gloss in their collection.

I know you might think that you would never spend the money on a Dior gloss but they r worth every penny of it. The applicator reminds me of a small thin brush, like your painting on your lips. It's gorgeous for the summer because it's a little rosy bronze color on the lips.

My last lip gloss is from MAC. It was apart of the limited edition Alluring Aquatic Collection. My last blog post was on this entire collection so if you missed it you should go check it out.

You can pair this with any nude or neutral lipstick and it would look gorgeous. In the comments tell me ur favorite nude lip gloss and I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post.

MAC Alluring Aquatic Summer 2014 Collection

Hey guys, every year MAC releases a summer collection and when I saw the packaging this year I was all over it. The name of the collection is Alluring Aquatic. I would describe the packaging as being turquoise with a 3-D water droplet effect. Also everything including the packaging is limited edition.

The first 2 things I had to get were the Extra Dimension Eyeshadows. In total there are 6 colors and the 2 that I got were Lorelei and Soul Serenade. One thing that I didn't realize was that the shadows are mini sized and they are each $19.50.
L - R: Soul Serenade and Lorelei
I would describe Soul Serenade as a deep plum brown and Lorelei as a golden beige. These colors are very creamy and very pigmented. I used Lorelei yesterday for the first time with a medium- toned brown in the crease and it was such a gorgeous natural look.

One of the things on my checklist were the lipsticks. In total there are 5 lipsticks and there is a mixture between matte, cremesheen, and frost. Each lipstick is $17.50. We need to take a moment and just look at the packaging, #amazing.

The color that I got is Pet Me, Please. I know this lipstick might look a little crazy and out there but it's gorgeous. This lipstick is a frost so as you can see from the swatch it does have a sheen to it. The only other lipstick I really want to get my hands on is Enchanted One which is a matte neutral pink color.

The only other lip product I got was a Tinted Lipglass in Water Deities. There are 5 colors total and the only thing I'm not sure of is that the gloss is thick because you have to kind of wiggle it slowly out because if not it feels like it will go everywhere.

Each gloss is $16.50. These glosses are super creamy and my favorite thing about them are that you can layer them on top of a lipstick or just wear them by itself. I would describe this color as a light bronzy pink with little shimmers in it.

The last 2 things I got are for the cheeks. MAC came out with 2 Extra Dimension Blushes and the colors are very similar. Each blush is $27.50.

I would describe this blush as a mid-tone neutral plum. I love the design imprint in the blush with the wave and you can feel the texture too. The only thing about this blush is that it is very sheer, in the swatch I had to build it up so you could see it.

The last thing I got from the collection was one of the Extra Dimension Bronzer in Aphrodite's Shell. When I got this in the mall I was surprised by how big the bronzer was. These bronzers are $33 each and come in 2 different colors.

One thing I have to say about this bronzer is that it is light. If your going to bronze up the skin then this is perfect but if you want to contour then the darker color is better for you. On the scheduled delivery day all I did was sit by the door and wait for the big brown truck to drive up. I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post and got some ideas on what products you want to pick up.

Elf Natural Eyeshadow Palette: Review + Swatches

Hey guys, a couple days ago I got the Elf Natural Eyeshadow Palette which should be no surprise because I LOVE neutrals. Right now on the Elf website this eyeshadow palette is only $6 so you are getting a huge steal but it does say it's limited edition so don't wait too long.
The second I got this palette I started creating some rosy-toned eyeshadow looks which you might see in a upcoming blog post so keep your eye out.
1st Row
2nd Row

3rd Row
4th Row
In total there is 32 eyeshadows in this palette, 8 matte and 24 shimmer. One thing you can tell from the swatches is that the darker colors are more pigmented then the lighter colors. If your looking to get into doing more everyday eyeshadow looks this is the perfect drugstore palette for you. Overall, this palette is a steal and a great dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette. In a comment tell me what your favorite drugstore eyeshadow palette is?

This palette is around $52 but if you do the math you are actually getting a really great deal. The double ended eyeliner pencil is around $16. You can get these products anywhere Urban Decay is sold.

The perfect palette to put on your vanity.

Saturday Shopping Haul: Target, Sephora, and more!!

Hey guys, on Saturday it was raining cats and dogs so of course my family and I went shopping. We set out to just go to one store and next thing you know I'm carrying shopping bags planning out a blog post in my head.

There is a JCPenny at my mall and they recently just opened a Sephora inside of it and even though  there is already one in the mall naturally I had to go take a little peek in. The 1st thing I got was the Nars eyeshadow duo in Silk Road. Which I am going to be doing a review on soon and right next to Nars was Smashbox. I got one of the Blush Rush Blushes in the color Paradise which is perfect for summer. Of course the sample area got me and they had a mini Benefit POREfessional so I had to grab that. The last beauty thing I got was from Target and its a Kate Moss by Rimmel lipstick in 08.

JCPenny was having a sale on their crop tops and they were only $7.99 each. The first one is white with black numbers and they remind me of a varsity style font which I LOVE!! The second one is perfect for if your running late. It's a basic 2-toned grey crop tone. Both of these are very comfortable and a little oversized which is just the way I like it.
Bath and Body Works was also having their 2 for $22 candles sale and they just released a new Limited Edition collection so naturally I had to get candles. We bought 2 candles but I gave one to my grandpa but the one I kept is called Citron Cedar Wood. This candle smells like Abercrombie which is amazing. I also picked up 2 of the fine fragrance mists in Amber Blush and the new scent French Lavender Honey.

The main thing I went on the hunt for was bathing suits. I have always been a little scared of pok-a-dots but I saw these and I could not help myself. Of course when you find a bathing suit you like you have to get opposite too. The bathing suits on the bottom are a little out of my comfort zone. I love the bright teal striped bathing especially when you get tan. If you guys have got anything this past weekend tell in the comments and I might have to go and pick it up.
                                                                                                                         Love,
                                                                                                                                   Alexis :-)

Vanity Tour & Makeup Collection 2014

Hey guys, over the past month I have been re-doing my set up and I am so excited to finally show you. The mirror sitting on the vanity is from Vanity Girl Hollywood in the color black. From Ikea I got two of the Alex 5 drawers and a Linnmon table top and everything is in the color black/brown.

On the left side of my mirror there is a Muji 5 drawer organizer and on top is like a acrylic circle organizer from Walmart. One thing I have found out about BB and CC Creams that have a pump you have to store them standing up or they will just pump liquid out and that's not good. On the side I have a lotion from Lush, Vaseline lotion, and a Simple Moisturizer.

Now on the right side I have this pretty like jeweled tissue box from Bed Bath and Beyond and my 2 brush cup holders. Even though  there is a big mirror sitting  on my vanity I like to have a smaller one for when I do my eye makeup. At first I thought they crystal tray was a mirror to hang but when I found out it was a vanity tray I knew it would be perfect.

In the first drawer I have all of my face products. My favorite things in this drawer are powder and primer. One of the best high- end powders is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals which I have in two different colors for summer and for fall. Surprisingly I don't have a ton of foundations or BB Creams because I tend to stick with one or two.

This drawer is a little lonely but I have all of my bronzers and highlighters. I don't have a ton because I usually have a couple of each that I stick to. At the moment I have been obsessed with highlighting my cheekbones and my 2 favorite are the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink Quartz and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light.

My favorite drawer is my blush drawer. I know that I have way too many blushes but if for some reason the whole world needed blush I could supply everyone. In the back I have my Maybelline Blush/Bronzer Sticks and then my Elf Studio Blushes. In the big section I have a mixture of MAC, Dior, Hourglass and some Benefit Boxed Powders.

Starting with the next set of drawers. I only showed you the first three drawers in the other Alex unit because the last two just have hair products. This drawer is probably my least favorite of all my eye drawers. It just has the normal things like eyeliners, mascara, primers and jumbo pencils. My favorite section is my brows which I constantly get more stuff for.

One of my biggest recommendations is to lay out your cream and single eyeshadow because when you line them up on their side you can forget what you have. As you can probably tell I from this whole makeup collection I love anything neutral or natural makeup and eyeshadow is the biggest thing. The container in the middle of the eyeshadows is from ByAlegory. It stores all of my smaller and thin quads and duos.

My last drawer might seem a little crazy but I have the rest of my big eyeshadow palettes. There is also another ByAlegory that has even more long and thin eyeshadow palettes. I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post and I'm not trying to brag in anyway, shape, or form.
