Things I'm Obsessed With: April 2014

Hey guys, I was thinking about different kinds of blog posts I could do and I decided at the end of  each month I could do a blog post called Things I'm Obsessed With. Some months it will just beauty or no beauty and just random stuff.

All of April I have been head over heels obsessed with dewy skin and this is the perfect blush. It's a MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Stereo Rose. On the cheeks it gives you the most gorgeous glow and if you want a little extra glow you can use a highlighter or like me I just leave it most of the time.

This next product I'm not quite sure if it's a primer or not but who cares I love it! It's the Loreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher but don't let the long name fool you. This is by far the best drugstore primer I have ever used. It keeps my makeup on all day.

For the past few weeks, I have been using a brow pencil but sometimes that can look a little harsh on the brows. So I started using my Elf Eyebrow Kit in Medium with my Sigma E65 Small Angle Brush. I have found that this is the best way to get quick and natural brows. In the morning if I have a little extra time I will run some off the Milani Brow Shaping Gel in Clear over them.

My last makeup favorite is the Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm. Every single day twice a day this month I used this balm. It gives a little pink color and shine to your lips with a slight minty taste to it.

My last obsession for this month is the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Perfume in Black. This perfume was in my Favorite Spring Perfume blog post. The only place you can get this Perfume is at Sephora. I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post and tell me in the comments down below your obsessions for this month.

Ulta Haul

Hey guys, so I might have have done a little bit of damage at Ulta. It started with going to look at drugstore makeup and then when we got there and saw It Cosmetics and it just got worse from there.

When I was in New York as most of you guys know I went to Sephora. I had my eye on this bronzer but for some reason they didn't have this one in stock so when I went to Ulta and saw it I had to get it. This is the Too Faced Sunny Bunny Natural Bronzer.

One of the main reasons why I wanted to try this bronzer is because it has 2 different colors. So you can either use the lighter color, the darker color or my favorite way to use this product is to swirl the 2 colors together. I can't wait to put this in makeup bag.

Within the blogger community a ton of people rave about It Cosmetics. So when my Ulta finally started carrying the brand I had to go take a little peek and of course I got some things. The first thing I got was the Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Palette.  There are a total of 15 colors and it's around $42.

I'm not going to swatch the palette in this blog post because A. I'm going to do a separate blog post reviewing it once I have started using it and B. It looks way too pretty. I could foresee this palette becoming one of my favorite neutral palettes. One thing that I have never seen in a palette before is a color that can make your eyeshadow shimmery. So I'm really excited about this palette.

The second thing I got was the Your Skin But Better CC Cream in the color  Medium. In total there is 5 different colors which isn't amazing but it could be worse. A plus about this product is that it has a pump to it and I can't stand it when foundations or BB Creams don't have one. For this CC Cream it can either be full coverage or you can sheer it out which is what I like about this.

Maybelline has released some new Elixir lip glosses and I may have picked up 3 of them but if you saw the collection with the lip glosses you would realize what kind of pressure I was under. You can find these glosses at most drugstores.
L - R: Glistening Amber, Charming Coca, Gleaming Gold
My favorite thing about this lip glosses is that they are extremely pigmented and are perfect for layering on top of a lipstick or jumbo crayon. These are great drugstore glosses and they are a little sticky but not to where your hair is sticking to your lips.

A couple weeks ago I did a review on the Colorburst Matte Balms from Revlon and are you surprised to see that I got 2 of the Lacquer Balms. One thing that I forget to mention in my review was that they have a slight mint smell to them.
L - R: Demure, Ingenue
If your like me and were a little scared about these balms there is nothing to worry about. There is no chunky shimmer in these it's a very fine shine to me which is gorgeous on the lips. Of course I got a pinky nude color and a little darker brown nude color.

Maybelline also released a small collection for summer. Like their Blush Sticks which I am a huge fan of they released Bronzer Sticks. There are 2 colors and a matte powder bronzer. The 2 Bronzer Sticks are limited edition.

The color bronzer stick that I got is Glistening Amber which matches the color lip gloss that I got. This is going to be the most gorgeous bronzer in the summer time with a slight sheen or shimmer to it. I have not had a chance  to try this out yet but when I do I will tell you guys what I think about it.

The last thing that I got was the Real Techiques Powder Brush. This brush is a lot  bigger in person then it looks in a picture. It can almost be a little to big for powder. I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post and comment down below any recent purchases you have made and whether you like them or not. Beauty Wish List: April 2014

Hi guys, I always do reviews on things I have or recently just got but to switch things up I thought I would do a Beauty Wish List and hopefully you can get some inspiration for new things to pick up.
NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette
1. NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette:  Nars released this a couple of months ago and I have had my eye on it ever since. You can get this palette from Sephora and it's around $79 but it's also Limited Edition so I might have to go take a look at it. The colors look perfect for a day to night look.
Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick
2. Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick: Too Faced just released their new Melted Lipsticks and I really think the idea behind them being liquified is neat. Of course, I had my eye on the nude color which is called Melted Nude. You can also purchase these at Sephora for around $21.
Butter London Nail Polish in Goss
3. Butter London Nail Polish in Goss: Even though I love anything beauty I don't really like painting my nails. But this color is the one exception. Alison Anderson or Amarixe posted a picture of this nail polish on Instagram about a month ago and I fell in love with it. I would describe it as a rose gold but with some bronze in it.
Dior Shimmer Powder in Amber Diamond
4. Dior Shimmer Powder in Amber Diamond: This highlighter from Dior is one of the most raved about products in the beauty community. When I went to New York the Sephora in Time Square said that they haven't had this product in for 2 months and at Nordstrom online it's also unavailable. So if you guys know where I can find this at please leave a comment and tell me where!!
Nars Blush in Douceur
5. Nars Blush in Douceur: Lately I have been on a blush kick and surprisely I don't have anything from Nars. So one day on Pinterest I saw this blush and thought it was the perfect one for my skin tone.
If you guys know about any products that you think I would love leave a comment below and I will definitely check them out. Don't forget to follow me on Pinterest and Twitter at LoveLexiTaylor .

Muji Organization + Storage

Hi guys, over the last few weeks I have been redoing my vanity area. So I had to get some acrylic storage and I have heard a ton of people talk about Muji so I had to find out for myself if it was worth the hype. After going back and forth I decided to get the 5 drawer which cost around $27 but if you go right now they are having a 10% off sale so now it's $25. The tissue box that I have on top is from Bed Bath & Beyond in the bathroom section.
In the 1st drawer since it's clear I like to put my more high-end products. Of course I have the Urban Decay Naked and Naked 3 Palette. The Naked Palettes fit in there perfectly with some more room on the side and behind them.
In the 2nd drawer I have all of my lip balms. In the front row I have all of my Baby Lips and a mini Sugar by Fresh balm. In the back row I have a mixture of Covergirl, Elf, NYC. My current favorite is the Dior Addict Lip Glow balm which I'm to going to review in a future blog post.
The next drawer is all of my lipsticks. I have all drugstore lipsticks because I just can't find myself to buy a high-end lipstick when the drugstore has a ton of great options. I have 3 Maybelline Buff lipsticks and one from the limited edition Nude collection. Also I have some Revlon Lip Butters, a NYX butter lipstick and 2 of the Milani Color Statement lipsticks.

This drawer has all of my lipgloss in it. It's a little lonely but not to worry an Ulta box with my name on it is due to come in soon. Since I got back from New York I have been loving my Dior Addict Gloss in #227 in Ambre Lumiere.
In the last drawer I have all of my balm stains. My most recent addition has been Buxom Full-on lipstick in Sydney which I will have a futher review on it soon. I have my 3 Revlon Matte Balms and some Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balms. My very 1st balm was the Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick in Warm Carmel which is the perfect natural color. I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post and don't forget to follow me on Pinterest at LoveLexiTaylor. If you have any tips and tricks for organizing your your makeup leave a comment below.

Favorite Spring Perfumes

Hi guys, since Spring is officially here I thought I would share with you my favorite Spring scents. Like our makeup routine, we like to change up our products for each season and it's no different with our perfumes. These are my top 4 fragrances that I'm obsessed with this Spring.
One of my favorite perfumes for Spring is the NEW Elizabeth and James Nirvana. This perfume is a Sephora exclusive and it comes in 3 different sizes. Of course I got the 1.7 oz which is the biggest size because my motto is go big or go home. Sephora describes this fragrance as a blend of violet, sandalwood and vanilla.
My most recent splurge was the Miss Dior Cherie perfume. Of course I got the 1.7 oz. and this perfume runs around $90. Even though this perfume is on the more pricey side it's 100% worth it. It's not overwhelming in anyway. The fragrance is the perfect mix of light and flirty with a slight hint of jasmine.
The last 2 are a little lighter then the other 2. First is Amber Blush. This one is a perfume mist from B&BW which is more long-lasting compared to Pink Chiffon. Amber Blush is a blend of creamy vanilla, jasmine and gardenia. If B&BW is not having a sale it's $19.50 but on a sale you can find it on a good deal. The last one is Pink Chiffon. Pink Chiffon is a fragrance mist and it gives you the feeling of being pretty in pink. Like Amber Blush it has vanilla but also berries, musk, and of course chiffon. Leave a comment and tell me your favorite scents for Spring time. Don't forget to go follow my Pinterest at LoveLexiTaylor.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Review

Hi guys, today's blog post is going to be a review on the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms. This blog post is going to be a little short on the pictures because my next one is going to be longer then my usual ones. I have been loving matte lip colors recently and wanted to review a drugstore lip option.
I got 3 of the matte balms from Revlon. The 3 colors that were my favorite for my skin tone were Complex, Sultry, and Elusive. The balms are around $9 and I found them at my local Walgreens. For the packaging I give it a A+ because as you get lower you can twist the bottom and more product comes out.
Sultry, Complex, Elusive
In total there are 10 colors and they have a wide range from really nude colors to a dark purple lip color. The texture is very creamy and completely matte. The 1st color in the picture is #225 Sultry. I would describe this color as a medium- tone rosy brown. In the picture it looks a little more purple but when you get it, it's not. The 2nd color is #230 Complex. This color is a true nude color and on medium to dark skin tones it could look like a concealer. The last color is #205 Elusive. It could look a little bright but it's the perfect grab and go color for Spring and Summer. Overall I give these lip colors a big thumbs up. I'll admit in the past I was always a matte girl but don't be surprised if you see a review soon on the lacquer balms. Leave a comment and tell me your favorite drugstore lip option at the moment.

Drugstore Haul: Elf, Milani, Etc!!!

Hey guys, I recently just got back from a trip to New York City. I did a good amount of shopping and  thought I could show you guys some drugstore products I got.
The first place we went to was Walgreens. Even though I have a Walgreens where I live, this one was huge. It had one whole floor dedicated to beauty related items. So of course I had to go to the Maybelline  section and grab one of there eyeshadow quads. The one that I got is called Chai Latte.
Chai Latte
This Maybelline quad has got to be one of my new favorite eyeshadow quads from the drugstore. All of the colors are very pigmented, creamy, and very blendable. Now this makes me want to try more of there eyeshadow quads.

Milani Baked Blush in Rose D'oro
The last thing I got from Walgreens was a Milani Baked Blush. I would always pick this color up and then put it back over and over again, but in New York I just decided that I should get it.
Milani describes this blush as pink and gold with shimmer. This blush is perfect for people with medium to dark skin tones because it will give you skin a nice glow. For people with fair skin tones, you should go light on this blush because it is very pigmented.

Elf Complete Coverage Concealer Palette in Medium

So far I have not had a chance to use this palette but just from swatching it I can tell that some of the colors have alot more pigmentation then others.
Elf Eyebrow kit in Medium
Ever since I got my eyebrows threaded a couple of weeks ago I have been on a brow kick. So when I was in the Elf Studio and there Eyebrow Kit there was no way I could leave without picking one up.
The swatch didn't really turn out to well but the one thing I can say is that the colored brow wax comes out lighter then that it looks. Don't forget to follow me on Pinterest at LoveLexiTaylor. I have a ton of different boards so you should for sure go follow me.
